Cole Dickson of Frankenmuth, formerly of Akron, age 60, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Covenant Health Care - Harrison in Saginaw, following a brave battle against Covid-19. Cole was born June 8, 1961 in Caro, the son of the late Donald and Caroline (Gangler) Dickson and grew up in Akron. He graduated from Akron-Fairgrove High School with the class of 1979 and furthered his education at Northwood Institute in Midland where he earned his bachelor's degree in accounting. Most of Cole's career was spent in sales and marketing, and he just accepted a new position as the business solutions manager at Saginaw Valley State University. He was a man that could walk into a room of strangers and make everyone feel like a friend. Cole's greatest love was his children. He regularly stopped by to see family, often unannounced, ready to share stories and hear what was going on in their lives. A state-champion shot putter in high school, Cole was preparing for the Senior Olympics tryouts in 2022. He could make anything grow, and loved time spent in his gardens and on the Dickson Family Farm. Cole also looked forward to frequent gatherings of the "Mosquito Club" at his family's hunting camp in the Upper Peninsula. His passing leaves a void in the lives of countless family and friends that will miss his generous spirit and kind smile. Cole is survived by two children, Alex Dickson of Frankenmuth, Kate Dickson of Clarkston; his siblings, Curt Dickson and his wife, Holly, of Akron, Holly Russell of Caro; sister-in-law, Joyce Dickson of Akron; the mother of his children, Mary Jane Dickson of Clarkston; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Cole was preceded in death by a brother, Kipp Dickson in 2020.
