Connie Jean Eden

Connie Jean (Weiss) Eden of Bay Port, age 75, passed away after a short illness on Saturday, April 25, 2026, with her loving family by her side at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe. Connie was born on February 7, 1951, in Pigeon, Michigan, to the late Harvey and Donna (Danks) Weiss and was a 1969 graduate of Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port High School. After high school, Connie attended Ferris State University, graduating with an associate degree before beginning her long tenure in medical records. She spent over 46 years with Scheurer Health, retiring as a Coding Specialist in 2016. Connie met Michael Eden while shooting pool and the pair quickly bonded over their love of the Thumb. They married on September 2, 1978, and spent over 47 years of marriage together. He survives her.

Connie’s faith was strong and it was said that her heart and soul were in the church. She was a lifelong member of Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon where she was deeply involved, serving as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, and mission outreach member. She was a member of the Circle women’s bible group and sang in the choir, and she never missed taking part in the church’s Christmas program. She and Michael also planted flowers at the church for over 20 years. In addition to her devotion to her faith and the church, Connie was also a Girl Scout leader and member of the Pigeon Chat and Chew group. She enjoyed arts and crafts, as well as birdwatching, and treasured her time driving along the shore with Michael. Connie is remembered as being the most loving and caring woman you could ever meet with a heart of gold. She was giving of her time and affection and always put a smile on the face of her cherished family.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, Michael Eden; children, Chris (Jennifer) Eden, Jamey Eden, Rebecca (Gregory) Yackle, and Rachel (Corey) Messing; grandchildren, Nick, Kyle (Rio), Matt (Monica), Max, Chloe, Jonah, Violet, Lily, Saige, Hazel, and Mirah; and sisters, Lori (John) Smith and Patti (Phil) McNeil; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Connie was preceded in death by her brother, James Weiss.
