Conrad John Podlaskowski

Conrad John Podlaskowski, 79, of Elkton, died Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.

Conrad was born August 21, 1940 in Hamtramck to late Casimer Werner and Emily Podlaskowski. On September 28, 1963 he married Phyllis Miczalowski at St. Louis the King Catholic Church in Detroit. He was a journeyman electrician by trade. In 1978 he decided it was time to move his family north and they picked a small town called Elkton. This is where he raised his family. Eventually he was hired in at Active Industries (now Tower Automotive) and he retired from there in 2006.

Conrad loved to go to the Hitching Post Inn and Century Oaks Golf Course. He took up golf later in life and truly enjoyed it. He loved to tell stories and was quite funny. If you knew him, you liked him. He embraced the small community of Elkton and loved it, especially having come from such a large city growing up. He was loved and will be missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis; daughters Bridgette McCarty (Todd Dufty) of Elkton and Kelly (Philip) Giacona of Sterling Heights; two adored grandchildren Matthew and Victoria Giacona; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be a memorial service at a later date. Interment will be in St. Francis Borgia Cemetery, Pigeon.
