Constance "Connie" Colleen Spannagel

Constance "Connie" Colleen Spannagel, age 76, of Unionville, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020, at home, surrounded by her family.

Connie was born January 14, 1944 in Long Beach California, to Patrick and Olive (Jacobson) Riley. In 1955, Olive married Norman Schroeder, they raised Connie along with her siblings. On October 24, 1964, she married Edward Spannagel at Immanueal Lutheran Church, in Sebewaing.

Connie was a lifelong resident of the Unionville Sebewaing area, she was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church since 1964, and she was active with WELCA and she was a donor and supporter for Thumb Blue Water YFC. In the mid- 60's, she was the local Farm Bureau Queen. In 2006, she retired after 30 plus years from Michigan Secretary of State. At her retirement, she was branch manager of the Secretary of State, Caro office.

Connie is survived by, Edward; children: Amy (JD) McBrayer, Marsha Spannagel and Andrew (Andrea) Spannagel. Grandchildren: Kiersten (Trent) Gascho, Sean and Braeden McBrayer, and great-grandson, Luke Edward Gascho. Brother, Chris; Sisters, Sharon (Rolly) Krauss, Chris (Cissy) Schroeder, Julie Schroeder, Susan (Chris) Cornelius and Linda Schroeder, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at St. Peter Lutheran Church (Columbia Corners) of Unionville from 3-8pm.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at St. Peter Church (Columbia Corners) of Unionville. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Memorial donation may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Thumb Blue Water Youth for Christ.
