Constance "Connie" Vandemark

Constance “Connie” Vandemark of Deford, age 81, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, at her home. Connie was born October 18, 1942, in Cass City, the daughter of the late Chester and Bessie (Craig) Muntz. She was united in marriage with Gerald “Jerry” Vandemark on June 10, 1961, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2018. Connie was employed with AAA Insurance for over thirty-five years. She was an avid photographer and loved music, especially Elton John, Greta Van Fleet, and Bon Jovi. She also enjoyed her mini-Highland cows, her many global friends, loved collecting knick-knacks, had a broad collection of art, and had a wealth of trivial knowledge.


Connie is survived by two children, Brian Vandemark and his wife, Kaylene, of Deford, Sue Toner of Cass City; five grandchildren, Bridgette Vandemark and her significant other, Tim Allen, Brenda Ostrom and husband, Tony, Andrew Vandemark and fiancé, Amy Goring, Justin Toner, Chantell Toner and significant other, Camren Rager; four great-grandchildren, Trinity Middaugh, Jacob Middaugh, Karly Middaugh and Brody Middaugh; and Anthony “Junior” Ostrom; one sister, Judy Knoph; and several nieces and nephews. Connie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver and dear friend, Alma Babcock. In addition to her parents and husband, Connie was preceded in death by son-in-law, Bryan Toner.


In keeping with Connie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the family farm, 4704 East Gilford Road, Deford, MI 48729 from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with David Martin officiating. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Rawson Library in Cass City.
