Cynthia Lee Loeffler

Cynthia L. Loeffler, age 79, of Sebewaing, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at her home in Sebewaing.

Cynthia was born March 25, 1944, in Bay City, to Floyd and Della (Gaeth) Gettel. She graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1962. She married Erwin W. Loeffler on June 20, 1964, at New Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. She was employed at Farmers and Merchant Bank in 1962, then becoming First of America Bank in 1995. She retired after 33 years in banking. She loved being a member of New Salem Ev. Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Ladies Aid and recently serving as secretary. Cynthia loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed evening walks, reading, flower gardening and cleaning.

Cynthia is survived by her husband of 59 years, Erwin Loeffler; 3 sons: Chad (Lynda) Loeffler, Ryan Loeffler and Jeffrey Loeffler all of Sebewaing; grandchildren: Mya and Cooper Loeffler of Sebewaing; brother, Dale (Jan) Gettel of Essexville; brother-in-law, LeRoy (Sharon) Loeffler of Sebewaing; sisters-in-law: Joyce Loeffler of Gagetown, Joan Loeffler of Sebewaing and many nieces and nephews.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Della Gettel; in-laws: Edward and Alma Loeffler; brother-in-law, Gerald Loeffler, Vernard Loeffler; and sister-in-law: Charlotte Kritzman.

The visitation and service will take place on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at New Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will be private in the church cemetery. Pastor William Mayhew will be officiating and the organist is Peggy Ogg.

Memorial donation may be given to New Salem Lutheran Church or The Autism Society.
