Dale was born February 28, 1927 in Memphis, Michigan, the son of the late James & Anna (May) Hines. He graduated from Memphis High School in 1945 and served in the United States Army for the two years immediately following. In Dales younger years, he was a Golden Gloves Boxer, but eventually turned his gloves in for golf clubs, a hobby he thoroughly enjoyed. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Betty L. Hines of Caro; four children and their spouses, Loren “Rip” & Sherri Hines of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Craig Hines and his fiance, Camille, of Killingworth, Connecticut, Kurt & Laura Hines of Alpena, Lisa & Bill Lear of Griswold, Connecticut; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Dean Hines and his partner, Fran, of Tucson, Arizona; one sister and her husband, Vonda & Jim Pratt of St. Clair, and many nieces and nephews.
