Dale E. Janks of Caro, age 76, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Vassar Comfort Care. Dale was born March 3, 1945 in Cass City, the son of the late Fred and Nina (Hiser) Janks and was a lifelong Caro resident. He graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1963 and continued to work on the family farm with his father and brother, Gary. On October 9, 1965, Dale was united in marriage with Diane Krause in Caro and the couple has celebrated fifty-five years together. In addition to farming, Dale found a passion in a deer processing business that he began in his basement in 1980. He perfected sausage recipes that have been enjoyed by people around the country and had people from all walks of life visit the company. Dale also loved raising horses and was an active member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He traveled often for his horse and processing businesses and was a licensed private pilot. Dale was also a member of the Lions Club and spent any spare time spoiling his wife and daughter. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Diane Janks of Caro; one daughter and her husband, Kelly Jo & Jeff Phipps of Caro; siblings and their spouses, Bob & Bonnie Janks of Mayville, Gary & Joyce Janks of Caro, Sharon & Gary Tesho of Gaylord, Karen & Don Smale of Caro, Betty Johnson of Fairgrove; sister-in-law, Ginny Janks of Lakeport; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Steve Dadacki, Erwin Green, Jason Lockwood, Cal & Lori Barnett, Brent Moyer, and Brent Robinson. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Janks; and beloved dog, Charlie. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is being planned for a later date.
