Dale W. Kretzschmer, age 80 of Caseville, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Born in McKinley Township on October 30, 1931, he was the son of the late Wesley and Pearl (Geiger) Kretzschmer, and graduated from Pigeon High School. On January 26, 1953 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Iva Schweitzer at the Salem E.U.B. Church in Pigeon. She preceded him in death on July 24, 2008.
Dale was a member of the Caseville United Methodist Church. He and Lorraine enjoyed traveling together and competitive dancing.
Surviving him are six children: Michael Kretzschmer of Caseville, Debra (Timothy) Leipprandt of Elkton, Jeffrey (Judy) Kretzschmer of Interlochen, Kim Kretzschmer of Lapeer, Renée Kretzschmer of Clearwater, Florida, and Steven (Kimberly) Kretzschmer of Caseville; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Damm of Pigeon and Carol (Raymond) Ruszala of Midland; two brothers, Harold Kretzschmer of Pigeon and Leon Kretzschmer of Caseville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristi Leipprandt; two sisters, Joyce Dietzel and Janet Kretzschmer; and a brother, Leroy.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Hayes United Methodist Church, Pigeon, with Rev. Bruce L. Nowacek, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Grandlawn Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Courtney Manor.
