Dale H. Tomlinson

Dale H. Tomlinson of Caro, age 90, passed away on the evening of Friday, June 30, 2023 at McLaren Caro Region. Dale was born January 26, 1933 in Caro, the son of the late Carl and Genevieve (Chambers) Tomlinson. He graduated from Caro high school with the class of 1951 and went on to work with his dad as an electrician until 1952. In 1952, Dale joined the U.S. Navy and served until 1956. Upon returning home, he went to work at the Caro State Hospital as a nurse and then ended his working career at General Motors as a Safety Coordinator. Dale was a member of the Sutton Sunshine Church for over seventy years. Throughout life, he enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, woodworking, and watching U of M football. Dale loved to be around family and enjoyed the special time spent with his grandchildren.

Dale leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of almost ten years, Marilyn; children, Kelly Skrivanek of Dallas, Texas, Timothy (Tammy) Tomlinson of Caro, and Scott Tomlinson of Mayville; Marilyn’s sons, Walter “Duff” (Irma) Dickerson and Michael (Jennifer) Dickerson; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joanne Tomlinson, Roland Hanes, Charles (Pat) Holzworth, and Konrad (Kathleen) Holzworth; several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Charlotte Tomlinson; brother, Robert Tomlinson; sister, Nancy Tomlinson Hanes; brothers-in-law, George Holzworth and Elwood Sharp.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. James Butler officiating. The family will be present to receive visitors on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Dale’s 4:00 p.m. service.
