Daniel Ray Downing

Daniel Ray Downing of Fairgrove, age 65, passed away at home on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Dan was born May 23, 1959 in Cass City, the son of the late Raymond and Norma (McLeod) Downing. He graduated from Mayville High School and went on to work various jobs. He loved to go to air shows, races, and most of all, bowling. Dan was a talented bowler and enjoyed the many leagues he was in. Dan cherished the time spent with his family. He will be remembered for his warmth, care, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Dan leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Casey Downing, Duane Downing, Jeremiah (Ashlynn) Downing, and Alyssa Downing; grandchildren, Payton Downing, Kahnyr Downing, and Xavior Moore; siblings, Tina Ewald and Shawn Downing. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his niece, Sara Schneider.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home with Rev. Paul McNett officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the family wishes, c/o Alyssa Downing, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
