Daniel A. Evans

Daniel A. Evans of Caro, age 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community. Dan was born July 23, 1936 in Pontiac, the son of the late Ollie & Mary (Spence) Evans and graduated from Pontiac Central High School with the Class of 1954. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was united in marriage with the former Norma Blackburn the following year. He later married Joyce Carter on June 18, 1968 in Waterford, and the couple celebrated thirty-eight years together before her passing on February 16, 2007. Dan spent most of his working career as an agent for Farmers Insurance in the Waterford area. He also devoted much of his time to the Power Company Kids Club in Pontiac as a bus driver and team leader. He loved children and was lovingly referred to as "Grandpa Dan" by countless kids in Pontiac and Caro. He'll be remembered for his great sense of humor, pranks, and gentle heart. He was a member of the Caro Assembly of God Church and earned his third degree black belt in karate. Left to cherish Dan's memory are seven children and their spouses, Daniel G. Evans of Thompsonville, Teri & Ted Bushofsky of Lake Orion, Sheree Frost of Thompsonville, Suzann & John Webster of Bridgeport, Dawn & Jeff Gill of Waterford, Kirk & Jody Evans of Beulah, Julie & Rev. David Dietzel of Caro; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Dan was preceded in death by one son, Randall Scott Evans in 2016; and two sisters, Katherine Evans and Elizabeth Veltman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. David Dietzel officiating.
