Daniel R. Walz

Daniel R. Walz, age 70, of Sebewaing, passed away peacefully Monday, September 6, 2021, with his family by his side.

Daniel was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on February 9, 1951, to Rupert and Charlotte (Mundinger) Walz. He worked a few years for Thumb Truck Equipment and retired after 27 years from the Cooperative Elevator as a heavy duty diesel mechanic. Many years he also enjoyed helping local farmers fix their equipment and enjoyed visiting with them. Daniel enjoyed woodworking, cooking, camping, building and being with his granddaughters. He was also an active volunteer with the Thumb Octagon Barn and enjoyed making their bean soup.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Beth; children: Matthew Kohl of Sebewaing, Wade Kohl of Sebewaing and Sarah (Andrew) Monroe of Manistee; step mother, Joan Walz; granddaughters: Briana Kohl, Natalie Kohl and Isabelle Monroe; siblings: Elizabeth (Harvey) Feinaur, Ann Walz Edwards, Christine, William (Peggy), Bruce (Linda), Ruth, Kenneth, Peter, Michael (Lynette), Naomi (Ted Sidloski), and Eric (Renee) Majeski; and many nieces and nephews.

The visitation and funeral service will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 10am until the time of service at 1pm. Rev. Michael Boyer will be officiating.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial donations may be given to the family or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
