Daniel Wisner, age 79, of Lake Twp., near Caseville passed away Monday morning at his home while under hospice care.

He was born October 31, 1931 in Detroit to the late Edward and Marian (Grusczynski) Wisner.
Dan graduated from Denby High School in Detroit and shortly thereafter joined the US Army during the Korean War era. Upon his return he was employed as a mechanic for the City of Detroit, becoming Coleman Young’s personal auto mechanic, retiring in 1983 with 32 years of service.

He met his bride to be, Sylvia Edgar, here in the Thumb near Oak Beach, in the mid 50’s where both of their parents had cottages. They married April 25, 1959, in Detroit and returned to Lake Twp. in 1983, after retiring. In their retirement, they loved to camp and traveled to all fifty states; all the Canadian providences except the Northwest Territory; they also visited thirty-five countries and twenty-six world capitals.
He was a very active member of the Caseville United Methodist Church for 28 years, serving as Trustee, the head Usher and many other committees, was a Boy Scout Leader many years and a member of the American Legion.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Sylvia and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, at the Caseville United Methodist Church. Rev. Linda Fuller, pastor will officiate with burial and military honors in the Caseville Twp. Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville from 2 to 8 PM Wednesday and at the church after 10 AM Thursday.
