Darl H. Deming, age 77, of Elkton, died Tuesday evening, March 30, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility surrounded by his family.
He was born September 6, 1932 in Fair Haven Twp. at the home of his parents the late Albert and Stella (Beadle) Deming.
After high school he joined the US Air Force. While serving he met Marge Post, they married March 1, 1952 in Newburgh, NY. After his discharge from the service they returned to Huron County. Darl worked at Stahl's Standard Service Station, for four years then took a position at Active Industries. He retired in 1991, as a Mechanic Supervisor with 35 years of service.
Darl was a member of the Community Wesleyan Church, Elkton and a life member of the Caseville American Legion Post 543. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his younger days, Darl loved the race track, driving #'s 47 & 2D at Owendale Speedway and Thunder Road, Cass City.
Surviving are his wife, Marge; three children, Agnes (Jerry) Talaski of Elkton, Butch (Jenny) Deming of Sebewaing and Cookie (Tom) Ekorn of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren, J.D. and Jeff Talaski, Renee Miller, Rhonda Scott, Ryan Deming, Michelle Talaski and Melissa Schmidt; eleven great grandchildren; four brothers, Buck (Julie) Deming of Saginaw, Herb (Elaine) Deming of Caro, Frank (Wilma) Deming and Al (Donna) Deming both of Port Bay and his sister, Grace (Clare) Finkbeiner of Elkton.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Daisy Hinton and Agnes Killingbeck, and a brother, Pete Deming.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday at the Community Wesleyan Church, Elkton. Rev. Daniel Stone, pastor and Rev. DeWeerd Smith will officiate with burial in New Bay Port Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Friday and at the church after 12 noon Saturday.
Memorials may be given to the family.
