Darlene Nora Davidson

Darlene Davidson, a lifelong resident of Caro, passed away at her home on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the age of 85. Darlene was born December 17, 1933 on the family farm in Caro, the daughter of the late William & Mina (Westphal) Putnam. She graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1951 and later attended Michigan State University's administration program. Darlene was united in marriage with Harry L. Davidson on September 12, 1952 in Caro and the couple celebrated more than fifty years of marriage before his passing in 2005. In 1962, Darlene began a career with the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility that would span more than thirty years, beginning in the laundry, working her way to bookkeeping, and eventually the facility's administrator. Her spare time was often spent playing Bingo, visiting casinos, and gardening. Darlene's life revolved around her children and grandchildren, and she'll be deeply missed. Left to cherish her memory are seven children and their spouses, Sue & Melvin Lucksted of Grayling, Patsy & David Friedlander of Traverse City, David & Diane Davidson of Fairgrove, Tammy & Carl Sattelberg of Port Huron, Larry Davidson of Kalamazoo, Harry Davidson and special friend, Margaret, of Warren, Timothy & Kelly Davidson of Freeland; daughter-in-law, Claudia Davidson of Pinckney; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Becky Putnam of Otisville, Ruthann & Barry Peet of Mayville, Donald Davidson of Flint; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by one son, Danny L. Davidson in 2017; and granddaughter, Jessie Lucksted in 1986. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with David Friedlander officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Exceptional Horseback Riders of Saginaw County in honor of Sophia Davidson or Liberty Riders in honor of Carrie Sattelberg.
