Darrell L Deck, age 65 of Cass City formerly of Bay Port, died Sunday morning, December 18, at his home from multiple health problems.

He was born September 23, 1946, in Uniontown, PA to the late Harry and June (McDowell) Deck. He moved with his family to the Detroit area at the age of five. After high school, he was inducted into the US Air Force and served in Vietnam as a jet mechanic and was shot down twice. On his return he went to college and received his associate’s degree.
On June 18, 1977, he was united in marriage to Carol A. Griem at Unity Lutheran Church, Detroit.

Darrell was employed at Henderson Glass in Detroit, until moving to Bay Port in 1986. In ’86 he took a position with Lear Corporation. Then in 1993, they moved to Cass City and in 2002, he was forced to retire for health reasons.
He was a former member of the Caseville Eagles; he loved to bowl in his earlier years, enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre and pinochle.

Surviving are his wife Carol, six children, Michael Kirk of Klamath Falls, OR, Brenda (Robert) Shefsky of Caro, Edward DeGrand of New Hudson, Craig Deck of Livonia, June Adamski of Elkton and Harry Deck of Marlette; eighteen grandchildren and his brother, James (Karen) Deck of Onstead.
Preceding him in death were his sister and brother, Arlene and Harry Deck.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, December 22, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton.
Visitation is held from 2 to 8 PM Wednesday and after 10 AM Thursday.
