Darryl Lloyd Coates

Darryl Lloyd Coates of Saginaw, age 59, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at his home. Darryl was born May 9, 1962 in Detroit, the son of Gerald Coates and the late Joan (Wisneski) Giltz. Darryl was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and son, and was known for his charismatic personality. He loved the Detroit Red Wings, the Three Stooges, learning about history, and his Budweiser beer. Darryl was also an avid conversationalist and loved to debate different topics of interest. He will be dearly missed. Darryl is survived by one son, Darryl Rocky Coates and his wife, Michelle; one grandson, Devan; his father, Gerald Coates and his wife, Janet; siblings, Darlene, Duane, JoAnn, Jaime and Krista; two step-sisters, Beverly and Christy; thirteen nieces and nephews, Breanne, Bryant, Ayla, Cerise, Brian, Alex, J.J., Briella, Cameron, Anthony, Evelyn, Caleb, and Brody; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather. In keeping with Darryl's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is being scheduled for May 9, 2022 (location to be determined).
