David and Amy Brown

Nicholas “David” Brown, age 53, and his sister Amy Brown, age 47, both of Millington, passed away unexpectedly in a housefire on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. David was born January 13, 1972 and Amy was born October 23, 1978. They were both adopted by the late Marvin and Norma (Fenningsdorf) Brown at a very young age. They attended the Elmer A. Knopf Learning Center and were both participants of the Special Olympics, where they made many friends.

David and Amy shared a close bond throughout their lives. Together they brought a lot of joy, humor, and kindness to the people around them.

David was protective and strong-willed, with a deep spiritual side. He loved candy, tacos, and Asian foods. He spent hours singing, playing his bongos and harmonica, and working with his dominos and beads. Amy was known for her sweet nature and her little spark of spunk. She loved Italian food, M&M’s, and Coca-Cola. She enjoyed her job as a janitor at Baker College.

They also shared many hobbies and interests. Amy and David enjoyed music of all kinds, especially Britney Spears, the Beach Boys, Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Baby Got Back, and “Love Shack.” They loved going bowling at the Clio Bowling Alley and fishing together at their pond, which truly was their favorite place to be. Both had a soft spot for animals, loved doing arts and crafts, and cared deeply about their family.

More than anything, Amy and David were known for how they treated others. They had a natural way of accepting people as they were and seeing the good in everyone. They will be remembered for their gentle hearts, their shared love for life, and the warmth they brought to those fortunate enough to know them.

David and Amy leave to cherish their memory their siblings, Jannifer “Brown” Richards Bowen of Millington, Sandra Allison Brown of Flint, and Corey James Brown of Millington; brother-in-law, John Bowen, Jr. of Millington; nieces and nephews, Justin Wilber of Millington, Tiffany (Roger) Smith of Clio-Millington, Johnny (Jd) (Christina Bowen) of Grand Blanc, and Richard White of Ohio; great nephews and nieces, Johnny Bowen Jr. of Grand Blanc, Richard White Jr. of Ohio, Nicholas Bowen of Grand Blanc, Roger Smith Jr of Clio-Millington, and Robert White of Ohio, Airianna Smith, Isabella White, and Rosie White; and many other relatives. In addition to their parents, David and Amy were preceded in death by their sister, Jamie Ellen Brown; brother-in-law, John Richards; their special friend, Jeff Kelley; and their beloved pets who sadly perished in the fire.

In accordance with David and Amy’s wishes, cremation is to take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the UofM Burn Unit or to the wishes of the family, c/o Janiffer Richards, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.

A special thank you to Bavarian Inn Lodge, Tim and Susan Acord, Red Cross, Brittany Bucholz, Millington and Vassar communities, and everyone who has shared kind words, prayers, and offered assistance to the family in their time of loss.
