David Frank Binder, age 79, of Essexville, formerly of Sebewaing, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Bay County Medical Care Facility.
David was born in Unionville on March 9, 1941, to Arthur and Helen (Bambach) Binder. He graduated from St. Joe's Catholic Church in Bay City in 1959. On June 25, 1960, he married Geraldine E. Sakon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Unionville.
David worked for General Motors for 25 years and then for the Saturn Plant in Tennessee for 10 years as a team leader for the production/assembly team. In his spare time he was an avid hunter, tinkered in woodworking, enjoyed camping, doing yard work, watching birds and being with his grandchildren. He was a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus in Tennessee.
David is survived by his wife, Geraldine of Essexville; children: Pam (Ron) Hawley of Cass City, Teresa Wolf of Cass City, Paul (Natasha) Binder of Owendale, Mark (Diane) Binder of Unionville and Dale (Heidi) Binder of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; 4 great granddaughters; 4 great grandsons; brother, Richard (Betty) Binder; 4 sisters: Janet (Andy) Canepa, Joyce Berglund, Bernice Binder and Marilyn Reedy; and many nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Ronald and Jim Binder; and 2 grandchildren: Landon Binder and Joey Hawley.
Visitation will be Monday, October 19, 2020 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Our Lady Consolata Catholic Church-St. Agatha Catholic Church in Gagetown. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will be at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Unionville.
Memorial donations may be given to Our Lady Consolata Catholic Church.
