David Nelson Briesmiester

David Nelson Briesmiester, 74, of Caseville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 22, 2021. He was born on November 15, 1946 in Winsor Township to the late Nelson August and Theresa Julia (Guster) Briesmiester.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Catherine (Bouverette) Briesmiester. Their love of roller skating brought them together and they raised four boys in Caseville.

Dave worked at Michigan Oven for 36 years as a fabricator until they closed in 2001 and then moved on to Walmart where he finished out his working career and then retired at age 63. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved watching old movies. He was fond of cats, especially his cat, Sassy, and he often took rides out to scenic locations to use his binoculars to see the beauty of mother nature.

Surviving are his four boys, Ricky Briesmiester of Caseville, Jeffrey (Kerri) Briesmiester of Brighton, Scott (Trish) Briesmiester of Elkton, Troy Briesmiester of Bad Axe, and four grandchildren Logan Scott, Madison Kay, Jeffrey David, and Cole William; surviving siblings are Eva Karl of Caseville, Daniel (Bonnie) Briesmiester of Elkton, and Dale (Tina) Briesmiester of Bad Axe.

Preceding him in death were his two sisters, Mary Ann Bailey and Sharon Bailey.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, May 26th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon, with Rev. Ean Green officiating. Burial will be in Caseville Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
