David Brown, age 61, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at his home, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 21, 1951 in Flint, the son of Pauline (Whitman) Brown and the late Charles Brown. David was united in marriage with the former Roberta Newcombe on October 2, 1971 in Flint. He was employed with GCR Firestone in Bay City as a mechanic for four years, and Tracys Old Castle Muffler in Marlette for over twenty years. Dave enjoyed singing, fishing, hunting, and bowling, and adored his grandchildren. He attended the Caro Nazarene Church. Dave is survived by his wife of over forty years, Roberta Brown of Akron; one daughter and her husband, Michelle & Tim Warren of Croswell; four grandchildren, William, Andrew, Claire and Lillian, all at home; his mother, Pauline Brown of Caro; five siblings and their spouses, Wayne Brown of Tennessee, Charles & Arlene Brown of North Branch, Ben Brown of Lapeer, Paul and the late Patti Brown of Columbiaville, Paulette & Brian Webb of Lapeer; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Bethany Ann in 1997. Funeral Services will be held at Caro Nazarene Church on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul McNett and Rev. Don Ault officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Hill Cemetery in Otisville at a later date. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Home and Hospice Advantage.
