David Roland Carlson passed into the glorious arms of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the age of 72 from his home in Caseville, Michigan.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 2, 1948, son of the late C. Bert and Helen Carlson. After high school graduation, David enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and was proud to serve his country from 1967-1971. He was stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base in Binsfeld, Germany.
David and Judith (Moss) Carlson were married on July 28, 1973 at Chandler Park Drive Baptist Church, Detroit, Michigan where he served as a trustee.
David enjoyed cycling and refereeing soccer games for AYSO and local high school teams. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing as much golf as possible and learning to “top beets” from his Thumb-area farmer friends.
David will be remembered as the consummate Mr. Fix-it. His proudest accomplishment was building the home he shared with Judy in Caseville, Michigan.
David will also be remembered as a loving husband, proud dad and farfar/morfar. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy; children Brian (Alissa) Carlson, Joel (Kerry) Carlson, Lindsay (Brian) Seals, and grandchildren Caleb, Haden and Kendall Carlson, Ronan and Annalie Seals; brother, Kenneth (Elaine) Carlson of Oceanside, California. He was predeceased by brother, Rodger (Tacy) Carlson of Bakersfield, California.
Memorial donations may be made to Pigeon River Mennonite Church, Pigeon, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
