David John Killinger

David John Killinger of Gagetown, age 58, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at his home. Dave was born July 14, 1957 in Caro, the son of the late John Herman & Shirley Ann (Wood) Killinger. He attended Caro High School and enlisted with the U.S. Marines in 1974, where he was stationed throughout the United States and in the Mediterranean. Dave was united in marriage with the former Lori Fritz on July 9, 1999 at Indianfields Township Park, and the couple has cherished nearly seventeen years together. He was employed with Midwest Rotary as a printing press operator and foreman for many years until the company's closing in 2003. Dave has spent the past ten years as an over the road truck driver. His spare time was often spent golfing and entertaining people. Dave could build anything and was never afraid to take on a major landscaping project. When you visited his home, you never needed to bring a dish to pass, Dave was going to do all the cooking. His famous pumpkin rolls and cheesecake will be especially missed. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lori Killinger of Gagetown; five sons and their spouses, David & Dana Warren of Caro, Curt & Tasia Warren of Wisconsin, Justin Killinger of Caro, Ryan Warren of Caro, Travis Warren of Caro; three step-children, Nichole & William Rabun of Sebewaing, Nicholas Woodruff of Cass City, Justin Woodruff of Cass City; twenty-six grandchildren; two siblings, Laurene & Dave Dicks of Caro, Richard Killinger of Caro; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by two siblings, Debbie Pinkoski and Cindy Warren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Military honors, afforded by the U.S. Marines and the Caro American Legion Post #7, will follow the service.
