David Allen Lagos of Cass City, age 81, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 with his family at his side. David was born April 26, 1942 in Caro, the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Urban) Lagos. David graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1960. On August 29, 1964, David married Paula Sue Berry, and the couple cherished nearly fifty-nine years of marriage. In addition to being a lifelong farmer in the community he grew up in, David worked for Michigan Sugar as a sugar boiler and machinist. He was a member of St. Christopher Parish and the Caro Moose Lodge, and in his spare time he enjoyed polka music, dancing, and Polish festivals. When it came time to do chores, David would occasionally conveniently disappear, only to be found enjoying a good polka.
David leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Paula Sue (Berry) Lagos of Cass City; children, Douglas Anthony Lagos and his wife, Cheryl, of Cass City, and Dr. Terri Lagos and her husband, Tom Dillabough, of Arizona; two grandchildren, Amanda Gallitto and her husband, Joey, of Ohio, and Rebecca Ann Lagos of National City; one great-granddaughter, Adriana Gallitto, with another great-granddaughter expected in early September; and brother, Michael Lagos of Cass City. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Lagos; and his brother, Richard Lagos.
A Mass of Christian of burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 16, 2023 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Christopher Coman officiating.
