David Lee Luebbert

David Lee Luebbert of Caro, age 84, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community. Dave was born January 18, 1939 in Lee Summit, Missouri, the son of the late Edward and Olivine Luebbert. He grew up in Lake Orion and graduated from Lake Orion High School. In 1960 Dave married the love of his life, the former Margaret “Peggy” Longpre.

Dave held a number of jobs; from working in a dairy factory, delivering milk, to teaching CPR & first aid and most recently was your friendly area school bus driver. His passion was teaching CPR & first aid to local nursing homes and care facilities for over forty years. In his younger years he was very active with the Boy Scouts and later was a member of the Knights of Columbus, CERTS, and attended St. Elizabeth’s. Working and staying active was Dave’s hobby, he never had idle hands. His love and devotion will be missed dearly.

Dave leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over sixty-three years, Peggy; four children & their spouses, Brian & Shirley Luebbert, Scott & Lori Luebbert, Kurt & Sue Luebbert, and Paul Luebbert; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Zahar. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Luebbert and his siblings.

In keeping with Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family Celebration of Life will be held in July.
