David Mcconnell

David McConnell, age 78, of Caro passed away on Monday, May 4, 2009 at Caro Community Hospital. He was born on May 12, 1930 in Arbela Township to the late Herbert and Melvina McConnell, and was a lifelong resident of Tuscola County. David McConnell married the former Phyllis Robinson on February 19, 1966 in Caro. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2002. He had been employed at Mayville Molding in Mayville until they closed. He enjoyed buying John Deere tractors and going to tractor shows. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter; as well as hunting and fishing. He occasionally attended the Ellington Church of the Nazarene and was an avid member of Club Manuel Tractor Show. He is survived by one daughter, one son and their spouses, Joy and Jim Davis of Silverwood; and Larry (Amanda) McConnell of Caro; a daughter-in-law, Sherrie McConnell of Cass City; seven grandchildren, Sara, Jessica, Troy, Jr. and Renee McConnell, Jody and Jim Bob Davis, and Brett McConnell; one great-granddaughter, Julianna McConnell; numerous siblings, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Troy David McConnell, Sr.; and the remainder of his siblings. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Comfort officiating. Burial will be at West Dayton Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the David McConnell family discretionary fund, c/o Joy Davis, 302 S.
