David G. Myers, age 58, Referee; Golf god; almost a judge and Freddie; passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, October 24, 2010. Dave was born May 3, 1952 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the son of Robert & Colleen (Walsh) Myers, coming to Michigan with his parents as a young boy. Dave graduated from Garden City West High School with the class of 1970, graduating from Michigan State University in 1975 and then Detroit College of Law in 1978. He began his legal career in Caro as an assistant prosecuting attorney, and continued in private practice for many years after. He was currently serving as the Friend of the Court Referee in Sanilac County, a position he held for the last ten years. Dave was a Fourth Degree Member and Past Grand Knight of the Caro Knights of Columbus #3224, and an active member of the Caro Golf League and the Thumb Area Center for the Arts. He loved golfing, MSU football, shooting pool, Texas hold em, karaoke and motorcycles. Daves life revolved around his two daughters and their spouses, Melissa & Francis Ko of San Diego, California and Emily & James B. Gantes of Ladera Ranch, California. Also surviving is the mother of his children, Nancy Blucher of Reese; his fiance, Debra Davis of Midland; his mother, Colleen Myers of Haines City, Florida; one brother, two sisters and their spouses, Mark & Debbie Myers of Westland, Denise & Mel Penny of Livonia, Laura & John Krupka of Chicago, Illinois; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Myers in 1993.
