David L. Papkey

David Papkey of Frankenmuth, formerly of Caro, age 75, passed away at his residence on Friday, August 4, 2017. David was born March 12, 1942 in Ferndale, to the late Charles and Alverna (Sattleberg) Papkey. Throughout his work career he was employed primarily as a line person at Active Industries, as well as doing carpentry with stints driving truck and custodial work. David enjoyed the out of doors, fishing, camping, watching loons on the pond, as well as woodworking and cars. He is survived by his children, Dick & Brenda Papkey, Dan & Deb Papkey, Valarie & Edward Wardle and Jonathon & Pam Ramirez; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce Papkey; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Magdalen Papkey, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Ramirez; a brother, Norman Papkey; and a sister, Shirley Brown. Family and friends will gather for a celebration of David's life on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Lang officiating.
