David Allen Sting , age 76, of Unionville, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 29, 2022.
David was born in Saginaw on October 26, 1945, to Waldo and Anna (Muelrath) Sting. He graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1963 and then graduated from Michigan State University from their agricultural program. On April 27, 1968, he married Donna J. Seibel at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville.
David was co-owner and operator of Sting Family Organics, LLC and truly enjoyed farming. He served on many different boards at church, the last being an Elder. He was also a board member of the Co-Operative Elevator, and board member and past president of Organic Farmers of Michigan, past president of the Tuscola County Farm Bureau and MALP Group at MSU. He enjoyed vintage cars, traveling and camping.
David is survived by his wife, Donna; children: Matthew (Michelle) Sting of Unionville and Grant (Heather) Sting of Unionville; grandchildren: Brianna (Mateo) Sting-Vargas, Brady Sting, Brittney Sting, Jonathon Harder, Catarina Sting and Sampson Sting; siblings: Thomas (Janice) Sting and Joanne Reinbold; and nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by parents and brother-in-law, Vern Reinbold.
Visitation at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 4-8pm and Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 1-8pm.
The funeral service will be Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Pastor Steven Stolarczyk will be officiating.
Burial will be at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery (Bach). A luncheon will follow.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Valley Lutheran High School or Christ the King Lutheran School.
