David L. Wazny of Caro, age 73, went home to be with our Lord early Saturday, May 7, 2016. He was born May 28, 1942 in Saginaw, the son of the late Stanley and Sarah (Gorski) Wazny. He married Noreen Puvaloski on September 16, 1967 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville, and together they celebrated forty-eight joyous years together. David proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years, and was deployed in the Cuban Crisis. He was employed with General Motors for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1999 to enjoy his family, finding his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. An avid sports fan, Dave loved the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and often attended University of Michigan and Detroit Lions football games. He also enjoyed fishing and working in his workshop and yard. David was a member of St. Christopher Parish (Sacred Heart Catholic Church) in Caro, former president of the Caro High School Athletic Boosters, and was a volunteer coach for both of his children's baseball/softball teams for many seasons. In recent years, Dave loved going to the casino and taking short road trips with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Noreen Wazny of Caro; two dear children and their spouses, Scott & Nichole Wazny of Kalamazoo, Tiffanee & Brian Wazny-Kohl of Bay City; four grandchildren, Chloe Wazny, Zoe Wazny, Hadlee Kohl and Seth Kohl; four brothers and their wives, Donald & Jan Wazny, Les & Barb Wazny, Mick & Jan Wazny, and John Wazny; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Clarence & Deb Puvaloski, Kenneth & Ruth Ann Puvaloski; sister-in-law, Joan Wazny; godchildren, Tricia Messing, Kelly Bernelis, Shelly Grifka; and many nieces and nephews, and their children. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Jimmy Wazny; step-mother, Bea; and mother- and father-in-law, Oscar & Frances Puvaloski. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Site in Caro with Rev. Jerzy Dobosz officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
