David Scott Welther

David Scott Welther, age 55, of Michigan Center, Michigan, formerly of Sebewaing, passed away November 30, 2018, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, Michigan.

David was born July 27, 1963, in Bay City, to Larry and Carol (Dorsch) Welther. David attended Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated in 1982 from USA High School in Sebewaing. After graduation, he entered the United States Army serving three years, two of which were in Germany. David enjoyed being a scuba diving instructor, music (especially playing the guitar), and being outdoors (canoeing, biking, riding motorcycles and yard work).

David is survived by his father, Larry (Nancy) Welther of Sebewaing; brother, Timothy (Larry Kerns) of Bay City; two step brothers: Mark (Gherda) Broadworth of Sterling Heights and Lee Broadworth of Bad Axe; girlfriend, Katrina Curry of Michigan Center; and many nieces and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Welther; step brother, Jack Broadworth; and step sister, Susan Fry.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will be Friday, December 7, 2018, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.

Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society, Sebewaing Sportsman's VFW, or the Sebewaing American Legion Post # 293.
