Dean Robinson, age 86, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Cartwright Hospice Residence in Saginaw. He was born May 5, 1919 in Wells Township, the son of the late Ray & Hazel (Klam) Robinson. Dean was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1936. During World War II, he served in the Army with the Third Armored Division. Dean was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Gilkey on January 9, 1943 at the Caro United Methodist Church and celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary earlier this year. Dean purchased and ran a farm on Dixon Road with a small dairy operation for several years. He also went to work for Raddamaker-Lyons Ford in car service, later for Bob Kettle Ford, Burton-Moore Ford and Moore Motors, retiring in 1981. Dean and Mary owned and operated Robinsons Restaurant in Caro from 1958 until 1965. Dean was a life member of the Theron Atwood American Legion Post #7 in Caro, the Watrousville United Methodist Church and the Caro Conservation Club. Dean enjoyed hunting, being at his cottage at Houghton Lake, fishing, golfing, playing cards and being with his family and friends. Deans beloved wife, Mary died February 23, 2006. Dean is survived by two daughters, one son and their spouses, Beverly & Vern Emberts of St. Johns, Brenda Perkins of Caro and Wayne & Kelli Robinson of Caro; one daughter-in-law, Deborah Robinson of Deckerville and her fiance Dave; seven grandchildren, Lynda Robinson of Caro, Mike (Rachel) Robinson of Edmond, OK, Brian Robinson & fiance Stephanie of Caro, Brooke (Jim) Mayer of Perrinton, MI, Chad (Rachel) Perkins of Sparta, MI, Justin Robinson and Corey Robinson both of Caro; five great-grandchildren, Andrea, Douglas, Billy, Scott and Christopher; one sister, Betty & Wayne Mason of Iowa; many nieces, nephews, friends and his loving pet, Cricket. Besides his wife, Dean was preceded in death by one son, Newton R. Robinson in 2003; one grandson, Wil Emberts in 2003; a son-in-law, Douglas Perkins in 1996 and two brothers, Rex and Cloris Robinson
