Deborah "Deb" Depelsmaeker

On Friday, September 27, 2019, Deborah "Deb" (Fulton) DePelsMaeker, loving wife, daughter, compassionate mother, grandmother, favored aunt and good-natured friend to many, passed away at the age of 56. Deb was born in 1963 to Kathryn Fulton and the late Robert Fulton. She moved to Caro early on in her childhood, and graduated from Caro High School, Class of 1981. On September 26, 1981, she married Daniel "Dan" DePelsMaeker with whom she raised two children and spent the next thirty-eight years of her life with. Deb was passionate about the care for the intellectually disabled and spent many years working in both adult foster care homes and for the Tuscola ISD, until her health forced her to retire. In her personal life, for many years, Deb enjoyed bowling in leagues, traveling, planting flowers, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her five grandchildren. Most knew Deb for her ability to quickly befriend anyone as well as her great and unwavering sense of humor, which she maintained through all of her challenges and until the end. Deb is survived by her husband, Dan; her children and their spouses, Nicole (Gordie) Gall of Toledo, Ohio and Daniel (Sarah) DePelsMaeker II of Caro; five grandchildren, Peyten, Greysen, Heyden, and Lunden Gall of Toledo, Ohio, and Quinn DePelsMaeker of Caro; mother, Kathryn (Fulton) Atwell; siblings, Vicky Kitchen, Rick (Janet) Fulton, Jodi Quick, and Danny Fulton, all of Caro; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. Deb was preceded in death by her father, Bob Fulton of Port Charlotte, Florida; father-in-law, Leonard DePelsMaeker; sister-in law Kim DePelsMaeker; grandparents, Mary and Raymond Slade and Margret Ann James; nephew, Kody Serges; aunt, Mona Czykski; and uncles, Charles and Richard Slade. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Ransford Funeral Home in Caro.
