Deborah Ann Smith

Deborah Ann Smith , age 67, of Sebewaing, passed away Monday, October 31, 2022.

Deb was born in Royal Oak on May 26, 1955, to William and Yvonne (Lake) Muether. She graduated from Lakers High School in 1973. She married Timothy Smith on September 29, 1979, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She worked many years in food service for Christ the King Lutheran School and Unionville-Sebewaing Area School. Deb then took a position in the lab at Michigan Sugar Company in Quality Control. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, camping, taking trips in the side car on the motorcycle, shopping, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed being in the hand bell choir in the 1990s at church. Deb was known to her kids' friends as "mom" and enjoyed being with and seeing all children. She especially enjoyed being with her 2 grandsons. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.

Deb is survived by her husband, Tim; her children: Andrew (Erin Brandt) Smith of London, Ontario and Annette (Nick) Kata of Unionville; grandsons: Garrett and Evan Kata; mother-in-law, Emily Smith; siblings: Larry Muether, Charlotte (Stan) Menzel and Denise Pelletier; and many nieces and nephews.

Deb is preceded in death by her parents: William and Yvonne Muether; father-in-law, Louis Smith and brother, David Muether.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 12pm. Pastor Michael Boyer will be officiating.
