Delbert Woodruff

Delbert Eugene Woodruff Sr., age 61 years, of North Luder Road, Caro, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon. He was born on February 2, 1945 in Flint to the late Jasper and Mary Elizabeth (Murphy) Woodruff. Delbert Eugene Woodruff Sr. and the former Diana Nash were married on August 26, 1967 in Flint. He was a race car driver, and also loved camping and fishing. Delbert owned the Family Bay Gas Station and Caro Towing until his retirement in 1999. He was also employed at National Roofing and Sheet Metal, retiring from there also in 1999, and was a member of Roofers Local 149 of Flint. He was very good-hearted. Delbert is survived by his wife, Diana; five children, Edwin (Emma) Woodruff of South Branch, Delbert Eugene Woodruff Jr.; Brian Woodruff of St. Helen, Angela Woodruff of South Carolina and Chance Woodruff of Caro; fourteen grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Hitsman of Cass City and Delphenia (Douglas) Bean of Caro; as well as many friends, family and loved ones. He was preceded in death by one son, Adam Woodruff; two sisters, Rachel Haskell and Beulah Marie Woodruff; and three brothers, Henry, Carl and Charles Woodruff. The funeral will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with J.T. Mabe of the Mizpah Missionary Church officiating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Woodruff family discretionary fund, C/O Diana Woofruff.
