Delena Magiera

Delena Marcella Magiera, age 83, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Caro Community Hospital. Delena was born March 27, 1924 in Caro, the daughter of the late William & Louise (Romain) LaJoie, and was a lifelong Caro resident. She was united in marriage to Steve Magiera on September 14, 1946 in Caro. Steve preceded her in death on February 10, 1999 after fifty-two years of marriage. Delena retired from Caro Community Schools after twenty-five years of service and will be remembered by countless students, teachers and administrators. She was a life member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also instructed 4-H students at the Sacred Heart School and enjoyed visiting her Caseville cottage with her family and friends. Delena is survived by six children and their spouses, Marieann & Bert Woodson of Bradenton, Florida, Alana Mattlin & Richard Mallette of Saginaw, Linda Gilkey, Steven Magiera, William & Annette Magiera, all of Caro, and Marnetta Lindland of Saginaw; six grandchildren, Charlie Gilkey of Chicago, Kristen & Mark DeVine of Kingston, Nicole Davidson of Freeland, Kaitlin Magiera of Caro, Jackson Lindland of Saginaw and Adam Magiera of Caro; three great-grandchildren, Tyler and Nathan DeVine, Aubrey Davidson and many nieces and nephews.
