Denise Ann Grote

Denise Ann Grote, 63, of Caseville, died Monday, August 8, 2011 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

Denise was born December 22, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio to Gladys (Kautz) and the late Glennwood Shepard. She graduated from Redford Union High School in 1965. On July 26, 1974 she married Ronald Grote in Livonia.

Having had a cottage in Caseville since 1982, she moved there permanently in 1992. She worked for 15 years in the deli at the Caseville IGA. She was an active member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and working in the kitchen.

She is survived by her husband Ron; children Michelle (Eugene) Smith of South Lyon, Lisa (Don) Wilson of Florida, Troy Grote, and Tony (Cindy) Grote of Redford Twp; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; her mother Kay Shepard of Canton; sister Terri (Rick) Houtman of Bloomfield Hills and brother Scott (Patty) Shepard of Orchard Lake; two nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her father Glennwood.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, August 13th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating. Urn interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery on April 11, 2013.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home. There will be an Eagles Auxiliary Ritual at 6pm Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Beaumont Hospice, or the Caseville Eagles John McDonald Scholarship Fund.
