Dennis Fredrick Abbe

Dennis F. Abbe, 77, of Owendale, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at home under hospice care.

Dennis was born December 27, 1945 in Bad Axe to the late John and Genevie (Severn) Abbe.  He grew up in Bad Axe and attended school there.  He married Berniece Beach on January 30, 1965 at the Owendale Community of Christ.

He was ordained elder with the Community of Christ Church, serving as pastor in Caseville.  He was a lifelong farmer, working 45 years for Gro-Green Farms.  He and his wife operated Abbe Acre AFCH.

Dennis is survived by his wife Berniece; daughter Melinda Jo (Rick) Brenner of Bay Port; grandchildren Chelsea, Justin, and Tristan; great-grandchildren Sebastian, Spencer, Kovu, Arlo and Jenna; brother David (Maryann) Abbe of Gagetown and sister Denise (Tim) Lenhard of Prudenville.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Zoie Lynne and sister Janet Abbe.

No public services are planned.  Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
