Dennis Michael Green

Dennis Michael Green of Caro, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Dennis was born January 20, 1943 in Detroit, the son of the late John F. and Magdalen (Kott) Green. He was united in marriage with the former Susan Courliss on June 17, 1995 in Saginaw, and she survives. Prior to his retirement, Dennis was employed for more than thirty years as a cinematographer for Dow Chemical Company. Dennis fought a long, courageous, and successful battle with heart disease. He continually surprised and amazed his doctors with his resilience and determination to live his best life in spite of so many obstacles. Dennis' love of photography and dogs, plus his creativity, made him an integral part of Cass River Pet FriendZ for many years. His knowledge and interest in birds, cars, and motorcycles is evident in the thousands of photographs on his computer, not to mention a file of photos on just about every person in the family, his beloved four legged companions, and of course, his four perfect grandchildren. Dennis was a veteran and a fierce patriot who loved and served his country. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of twenty-five years, Susan Green of Caro; two children and their spouses, Charlotte & Scott Diller of East Jordan, Gavin & Beha Green of Midland; four grandchildren, Ethan Green, Owen, Madeline and Evelyn Diller; siblings and their spouses, Jon & Kathy Green of Villa Ridge, Missouri, JoEllen & Tony Gentuso of Estero, Florida, Geoffrey & Diane Green of Attica, Christine & Larry Hunt of Delaware, Ohio, Mary & Ed Reinbold of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Patrick Green of Harrison Township; many nieces and nephews; and his much loved, well-behaved puppy, Leo. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by one niece, Lisa Hunt; one nephew, Kevin Conry; his mother-in-law, Wilda Courliss; and his true and loving companion, Chance. In keeping with Dennis' wishes, cremation has taken place. His life will be honored in a private service at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Cass River Pet FriendZ, P.O. Box 513, Caro, MI 48723.
