Dennis O. Healy

Dennis O. Healy, of Caro, age 67, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, following a period of declining health. Dennis was born March 24, 1949 in Caro, the son of the late Orville & Geraldine (Cannell) Healy. He was nearly a lifelong resident of Caro, graduating from Caro High School and then serving in the United States Marines. Upon his honorable discharge, Dennis went on to Central Michigan University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. He worked for Midwest Rotary until its closing and then for Michigan Sugar until his retirement on March 6, 2011. Dennis enjoyed golfing and following both trotters and pacers. He also liked to follow baseball, football, and basketball. Dennis is survived by one brother and his wife, Laurence & Carol Healy of Caro; one step-sister and her husband, Jane & Ken Pedler of Caseville; one brother-in-law, Thomas Remhus of Essexville; two nieces, Leslie Healy and her fianc, Brian Seeley, of Cass City and Yvette & Kyle Brink of Sebewaing; great nieces and nephews, Veronica, Caleb, Trevor and Brenden Brink; one aunt, Dorothy Healy of Cass City; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his step-mother, Helen Healy; brother, Gary Healy; step-sister, Judy Remhus; and step-brother, Ronald Gretz. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday April 11, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with VA Chaplain Perry Parker officiating. Military honors will follow the service under the auspices of the U.S. Marine Corps and the Caro American Legion Post #7.
