Dennis Orin Pomeroy of Fairgrove, age 82, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw. He was born in Ensign, the son of the late Floyd and Elvera (Lamberg) Pomeroy. Dennis graduated from Nahma High School, where he was apart of the 1959 Nahma Arrows Class E Basketball Champions. Following high school, he went to work for his father’s forestry company driving truck. On February 1, 1964, he married the love of his life, the former Jean Juneau. Their marriage was blessed with over fifty-three years, four children, and countless laughs and memories. Sadly, Jean passed away on October 28, 2017.
Dennis and Jean moved to lower Michigan, where he started his career at General Motors, retiring in 2001 after thirty dedicated years. In his free time, Dennis loved hunting up in the U.P., watching Jean fish, and was always up for a trip to the casino. He loved spending time with friends, taking Jean out on their little dates, and absolutely adored his dogs, both named Trixie, who were his constant companions. Dennis had a dry, goofy sense of humor and could always make you laugh with one of his sarcastic comments or jokes. He had a way of getting everyone going, often with that mischievous grin that let you know he was just stirring things up. Though he could be stubborn at times, it was part of what made him so genuine and full of character. Above all, Dennis was deeply loved by everyone who knew him; his warmth, wit, and loyalty left a lasting impression.
Dennis leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Tammy (Ken) Judson, Kim (Timothy) Millikin, Amy (Kevin) Anderson and Phillip Pomeroy; seven grandchildren, Dennis, Michael, Josh, Anthony, Craig, Colton and Sadie; three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Craig Jr. and Kallie; goddaughter, Addie Goymerac; siblings, Winifred (Andy) Budkis, Arlie (Judy) Pomeroy, Susie Hansen, Sandra (Don) LaForest, and Ginny (Larry) Thorsen; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Donald (Suzanne) Pomeroy and his beloved brothers-in-law, Putter Reid and Chuck Hansen.
Dennis’ funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Ransford Funeral Home in Caro. The family will be present to receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. until the time of his service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to their favorite pet rescue in honor of Dennis’ love for dogs.
