Dennis Powell

Dennis M. Powell of Mayville, age 60, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his home. He was born September 5, 1952 in Camilla, Georgia, the son of the late William M. Powell and Betty I. (Wade) Koop. Dennis was a member of the Caro Eagles, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dennis is survived by his significant other of twenty-nine years, Terry Fenningsdorf; their four children, Russel, Andrew, Robert (Tiffany) and Dennis Powell, all of Caro; three “adopted” sons, Robert Bigelow, Jon Fenningsdorf and Vince VanHorn; two grandchildren, Robert Powell, Jr. and Ion Nelson; two brothers, Tom and Richard Powell; two sisters, Pauline (John) Fitzpatrick and Shelby (Mike) Peters; a brother-in-law, Michael Novak; his step-father, Roy Koop; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Jo Novak. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Leonard Astrowski officiating. In keeping with Dennis wishes, cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Powell Family Discretionary Fund, c/o 205 W.
