Dennis J. Stahl

Dennis J. Stahl of Caro, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Hills and Dales Healthcare in Cass City. Dennis was born August 11, 1944, at home in Sebewaing, the son of the late Otto and Ruby (Kain) Stahl. Dennis graduated in 1962 from Sebewaing High School. He was very competitive, playing baseball, football, and basketball for the Indians, and eventually played collegiate sports at Northwood. Dennis worked at several places in Sebewaing before his employment at GM/Delphi for almost thirty-six years. Later in life, he enjoyed playing cards, golf and bowling, having achieved two 300 games at The Brentwood. Not only did he love playing sports, but he also enjoyed watching them just as much. If any sort of Lions, Tigers, Pistons, U of M, or Michigan State game was on, he was always rooting for the home team. Dennis was always excited and committed to watching his grandchildren, Justin and Jenna, at their sporting events. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, camping, and boating, and enjoyed watching John Wayne and James Bond classic movies. He maintained a meticulous lawn and took pride in his landscaping and fruit trees. Dennis was a dog lover and had a loyal companion every day of his life. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. Dennis is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Jaime & Joel Nicol, Kristen & Matthew Ender, Larry & Eva Engelhardt; grandchildren, Justin and Jenna Nicol, Samantha & Matthew Peaphon, Jacob Engelhardt, Alex Engelhardt; siblings, Warren Meissner, Maureen & Ed Kusek, Max & Mary Jo Meissner, Renee & Jim Bauer; in-laws, Sandy & Rick Rifenbark, Karen & Tim Ellison, and Dennis Schwab; aunt, Della Marotzke; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Pat & John McIntosh and family, Gary Zellar and Carol Zellar Hagen. Dennis was preceded in death by his and Diane's parents; step-father, Max Meissner; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon & Ralph Finkbeiner; sister-in-law, Thelma Meissner; and special friends, Jack & Shirley Zellar. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro.
