Dessie G. Davison, age 97 years, of Parkway Drive, Caro, died on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at her home in the loving company of her family. The former Dessie Kimmel was born on April 2, 1909 in Paulding, Ohio. She was a child when she and her family moved to Tuscola County and established a family farm. Dessie graduated Caro High School and then County Normal. She then taught in several area country schools, and on January 1, 1934 she married Clark Davison at Fairgrove. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1995. Dessie made her education a lifelong endeavor, competing with her daughters for who would get her Bachelor Degree first and with the greater GPA. She won on both accounts and later earned her Masters in special education. She was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church and Kedron Chapter #33, Order of Eastern Star. She loved tending to her family, flowers and her yard. Neatness, perfection, pride, kindness and love were her bywords. Dessie is survived by four children and their spouses, Wayne (Gay) Davison of Rolla, Missouri, Eugene (Sue) Davison of Caro, Jane (Joe) Nawrocki of Toledo, Ohio and Dr. Mary Lou (Arthur) Dorf of Toledo; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Dessie was preceded in death by her four siblings and one great- grandson. A Memorial Service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday, May 7, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. with services by Kedron Chapter #33, Order of Eastern Star. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:30 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kedron Chapter #33, Order of Eastern Star or United Hospice of Marlette.
