Diana J. Buchanan, 67, of East Lansing, formerly of the Bad Axe area, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018. She was born April 4, 1950, in Cass City, daughter of Donald C. Buchanan, and the late Mary L. (Doerr) Buchanan. Diana was a member of the Bad Axe High School Class of 1968. She received two Bachelor’s Degrees and a Master’s Degree from Michigan State University. Diana was a journalist, photographer, archivist and librarian for both Gannett and Independent newspapers. She loved the arts, literature, baking for friends and family, volunteering for non-profit organizations, and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her father, Donald C. Buchanan of Bay City; her brother, Donald M. Buchanan and his wife, Lou, of Phoenix, Ariz.; her daughter, Michelle (Luedeman) Covert of East Lansing; her son, Benjamin C. Luedeman of Rochester, Minn.; two grandchildren, Finch and Juno Covert of East Lansing; five nieces and nephew, Melissa, Jennifer and Amanda Buchanan of Phoenix, AZ, Brian Buchanan of Bad Axe, Denise Kinney of Lander, WY. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary L. (Doerr) Buchanan, and her brother, Daniel C. Buchanan.
Memorial services will be 6:00pm Wednesday, April 4 th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton and Friday, April 6, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., at University United Methodist Church in East Lansing.
