Diana Mathilda Richardson of Snover, age 80, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, at McKenzie Health Systems in Sandusky. Diana was born February 4, 1946 in Harbor Beach, the daughter of the late Berthold and Bertha (Engle) Leese. She graduated from Port Hope High School with the Class of 1964.
Diana was united in marriage with her high school sweetheart, Ralph Richardson, on September 16, 1967 at the Port Hope Lutheran Church. The couple was able to cherish more than fifty-two years together before Ralph’s passing on June 13, 2020. In the early 1970’s, Diana and Ralph moved their family to Snover when Ralph took a mechanic position at Leese Ford in Sandusky. In 1982, the family purchased a dairy farm that Ralph operated while Diana maintained the home and children. The farm remains on the family homestead to this day.
Diana wore many hats throughout her life, each one reflecting her dedication to both her family and the farm she helped sustain. Whether tending to daily responsibilities at home or contributing to the hard work that kept the farm running, she approached every role with determination and pride. Beyond her work at home, she also spent years as a swing shift manager at McDonald’s, where her leadership and work ethic left a lasting impression on those around her.
Diana's passions extended beyond work and family life. She was a proud and active member of the M/T Pocket Pullers, a community that shared her enthusiasm and competitive spirit. Her commitment and contributions to the group were recognized when she was inducted into the Hall of Fame in April of 2024, which was a true testament to the impact she made and the respect she earned over the years.
Left to cherish Diana’s memory are her children, Melissa (John) Richardson of Snover, and Michael (Mandy) Richardson of St. Helen; two grandchildren, Brandon (Allison) Richardson of North Carolina, and Cory (Laura) Richardson stationed in California; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph.
Service details will be announced when information becomes available. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Melissa Richardson, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
