Diane T. (Booms) Riedel

Diane T. (Booms) Riedel, 75, of Harbor Beach passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at Harbor Beach Extended Care and Rehab. Diane was born on April 30, 1950, in Harbor Beach, to the late Melvin and Esther (Philippi) Booms and was a 1968 graduate of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School in Ruth. She married Warren Riedel on July 18, 1970. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2022. Diane worked with Warren at Thumb Industries in Bad Axe, but her primary calling was as a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In her free time, Diane enjoyed painting, crocheting, and birdwatching, and loved playing bingo. She was also a faithful parishioner of Harbor Beach Assembly of God.

Diane is survived by daughter Melissa Barnes; grandchildren Zachary, Tiffani, and Darren; great grandchildren John Jr and Stevie; siblings Catherine (friend Carl) Slater, Joyce (James) Slater, Joseph Booms, Kevin (Luann) Booms, Louise (Kevin) Hessling, Sylvia (Joseph) Alent, Philip (Kathy) Booms, and Lois (Floyd) Tenbusch; and sister-in-law Rose Marie Booms; as well as many nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years; Warren Riedel; siblings, Mary Booms and Marvin Booms; and brother-in-law, Gary Slater.

In accordance with Diane’s wishes, cremation is to take place. While the family will be having a private graveside service for Diane, they ask you to spend time sharing memories of Diane with those you love.
