Diane Romain

Diane Romain of Caro, age 77, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Diane was born May 31, 1942 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Wallace and Esther (Engelhardt) Ranke. She was a graduate of Caro High School and at seventeen years old met nineteen-year-old Dale Michael Romain. Dale turned out to be the love of her life, and they were united in marriage on April 30, 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro. A devoted wife and mother, Diane spent many years as a homemaker while her children were young. Later in life, she enjoyed volunteering at the Food Pantry in Caro, working elections each year, and working as both a para-professional and cook for Caro Community Schools. Dale and Diane remained inseparable throughout their years of marriage and found great joy in traveling to visit family while seeing the country. Sunday mornings were spent at church with Polka music sure to follow. Life for Diane revolved around family and she'll be remembered as everyone's biggest cheerleader.
