Diane "Pinky" Tulppo

Diane W. Tulppo age 68 of Colfax Twp. near Bad Axe died Saturday morning, November 15, at her home following recent health problems.

She was born May 12, 1946 in Detroit to the late Bernard and Madge (Martin) Zessow and grew up in the Oakland County area.

On November 14, 1998, she was united in marriage to Marvin J. Tulppo at her parent’s home in Franklin. They lived near Capac until June of 2004, when they moved to their home in Colfax Twp.
Diane was without question an animal lover taking in lost and stray cats and dogs. She had owned and operated a kennel and did cat shows in and around Oakland County in the seventy’s.

She was a long time member of the Franklin Methodist Church and attended services regularly at the Elkton United Methodist Church. Her hobbies were doing needle point and drawing, especially sketches of cats and dogs.

Surviving are her husband, Marvin; her brother, Mark (Judy) Zessow of Franklin; step children, Wayne (Lori) Tulppo of Kingsley, Deniese Estock of Glen Allen, VA and Jeff (Melissa) Tulppo of Westland; seven step grandchildren and four great step grandchildren.

A memorial service is being planned at a later date at the Franklin Methodist Church.
